This authentic Victorian door knocker was meticulously crafted in England by the highly celebrated foundry Archibald Kenrick & Sons at their West Bromwich facility. Pattern No. 423 features an exceptionally detailed, classical Aesthetic Period composition highlighted by scrolled lift grips, ornate stylized foliage, and a prominent central multi-point rosette.
The reverse of the backplate features sharp, highly legible foundry markings: "A. Kenrick & Sons" paired with the "423" model stamp and a complete, clear Victorian Design Registration Diamond. The presence of this registry diamond dates the origin of this specific casting design precisely to the first half of 1883 (the final year the British Patent Office utilized the diamond format before transitioning to numerical registration).
