Vintage "Book of Knowledge" series cast iron mechanical Tammany Bank. A mid-century, hand-painted reproduction of the famous 1873 J. & E. Stevens design depicting political figure "Boss Tweed". When a coin is placed in his hand, the weight causes his hand to drop the coin into his vest pocket as his head nods in thanks. Stamped on the bottom base plate: "Reproduced from original in collection of The Book of Knowledge".
