This is a rare, authentic vintage 1950s Rootes Group Car Club enamel car grill badge.

This piece of Australian motoring history was manufactured locally by the renowned Stokes & Sons in Melbourne. The reverse side features the crisp, original "STOKES MELB" maker's stamp alongside the authentic, sequentially die-stamped early membership allocation number: 385.

The badge features brilliant chrome plating and stunning porcelain cloisonné enamel work in rich red, blue, and vibrant yellow. The central shield showcases the iconic stylised bird motif above three vertical segments. It is perfect for collectors or owners of classic Hillman, Humber, Singer, or Sunbeam vehicles looking for a period-correct grill addition.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The porcelain enamel remains remarkably intact with bright coloration, showing only minor natural age patina to the chrome surround and reverse as pictured. Solid mounting holes are clean and intact.
