Antique Late 1800s Australian Cedar Floor Ashtray Stand – Smoker's Pedestal

An authentic late 19th-century Australian cedar floor-standing smoker's ashtray stand. This beautiful piece features a classic baluster-turned pedestal column showcasing a rich, warm historic patina and prominent natural wood grain. The top holds a mechanical plunger style ash receptacle, which has been cleaned down to its underlying base brass.
The piece presents beautifully overall with excellent structural integrity. The stepped circular base features an early interlocking tiered construction with flat-edged sides to fit flush against furniture; it retains its original recessed lead stabilization weights on the underside. Notable minor historic wear and typical age-related damage are present along the lower tiers of the base as shown in the photographs, which does not affect stability or display. A wonderful piece of authentic Australiana tobacciana for collectors or unique interior styling.
