An authentic WWII Australian military issue Lamps, Electric, No. 1 blackout signaling lantern. Manufactured in Melbourne by Kempthorne in 1944 under wartime contract S720. Features clear Department of Defence (D↑D) stamps on the rear belt clip. This piece is exceptionally complete, retaining its original front blackout lens cowl and top brass battery thumb screw knob. The body displays an honest, unrestored olive-drab paint patina with minor age-related oxidation.
