For sale is a beautiful, heavy antique equestrian doorstop/mantle ornament featuring a highly detailed Western saddle, bridle, and reins.
This is an authentic, two-piece sand-cast assembly from the early 20th century. The hollow-backed horse is securely bolted onto an ornate plinth base via its original iron hardware. The underlying base metal is solid cast brass, which beautifully peaks through on the high-wear areas of the feet, giving it an incredible, authentic aged patina. The heavy nickel plating has softened over the decades into a gorgeous, warm vintage finish. The reverse side features the classic flat-back design meant to sit flush against a wall, door, or fireplace hearth.
