For Sale: A beautifully preserved, late Victorian cast iron No. 2 size sad iron (flat iron), manufactured in West Bromwich, England by the historic foundry Archibald Kenrick & Sons (A.K & Sons).
This classic household tool features a perfectly flat soleplate designed for standard clothes pressing, accompanied by Kenrick’s signature integrated, hollow heat-dissipating handle grip. At just 9.5 cm long, this small Size No. 2 iron has a wonderful miniature aesthetic, making it highly collectible and the perfect compact display piece for a shelf, desk, or mantle.
The top deck retains crisp, legible embossed factory markings arranged in their iconic circular layout, proudly displaying the "A.K & Sons" maker's name and the size "No. 2".
- Condition: Excellent antique condition. It features a stable, untouched dark iron patina with honest surface oxidation that gives it fantastic rustic character. Solid cast metal with no structural cracks, chips, or repairs.
