For sale is an authentic piece of local industrial history: a heavy antique municipal streetlamp fitter cap (mounting head), dating from the early 20th century (circa 1910s–1930s).
This solid sand-cast iron assembly was a staple of early Australian suburban electrical rollouts. It functioned as the rugged structural core of a street lamp, designed to house high-voltage porcelain electrical terminals and clamp securely over a large 18-to-20-inch enameled steel "radial wave" reflector shade [GE_46].
It retains its original weathered "highway green" municipal enamel paint with a fantastic, genuine aged rust patina. The underside features the classic three-hole pattern: a central electrical wire port flanked by two structural mounting bolt tracks.
A superb piece of authentic industrial heritage. It looks spectacular as a standalone sculptural artifact, or it can be cleaned up and wired for a premium vintage farmhouse pendant light, barn lamp, or porch feature.
