WWII British Australian Army P-37 Canteen Cobalt Blue Enamel & Khaki Felt

This is an authentic piece of WWII military history: a British Pattern 1937 (P-37) water bottle. This "skeleton" type bottle features the desirable cobalt blue enamel-on-steel body, which was standard issue for British and Commonwealth forces throughout the war.
The canteen is in honest, field-used condition. The original khaki wool felt cover shows a natural aged patina and minor fraying typical for its age. These wool-covered bottles were designed to be soaked in water, using evaporation to keep the internal contents cool in harsh climates like North Africa or the Pacific. The enamel remains glossy, with expected oxidation on the exposed metal rim and threaded neck.
Measuring 21cm high, 14cm wide, and 7cm deep, and weighing approximately 700g, this is a perfect "gap filler" for a militaria display or a restoration project. It is sold in its current state, without the webbing harness or cork.
