The Design
A true staple of Australian industrial history, the Planet Studio K was designed by Bill Iggulden in 1962. This is the sought-after floor lamp version, featuring the original "Mission Brown" finish. Its patented articulated arm and precision friction joints allow for effortless positioning, making it the perfect functional statement piece for a home studio, library, or mid-century interior.
Condition Report
  • Functional: In good working order with smooth articulation.
  • Mechanicals: Springs remain strong and hold positions firmly across all angles.
  • Aesthetics: Presents well with a classic vintage patina. There are some age-consistent marks from use as expected for a 60-year-old piece.
  • Note: The top Bakelite fitting has a small chip/missing piece (as shown in photos). This is a common occurrence with these vintage units and does not affect the lamp's operation.
