Original WWI Australian Light Horse Leather Leggings Stohwasser Pattern
Please check the Photos. Good condition, commensurate with the age, as per the photos. For sale is an authentic pair of Australian Light Horse leather leggings (gaiters) in the classic Stohwasser pattern. These were standard issue for mounted troops, transport drivers, and artillery units during the First World War.
This pair is in remarkably good, complete condition. The leather remains supple with a rich aged patina, and all original spiral straps and top brass buckles are intact and functional. While no maker’s stamps are visible (as is common with many field-used items), the construction and styling are quintessential 1914–1918 Australian AIF issue.
